recipes from the 1940s, 1950s and 1960s
While browsing through old magazines, we have been
alternately intrigued, amused and often disgusted by the
creative assemblages that qualified as food. The '40s
and '50s brought us intricate garnishes, fabulously decorated
plates and very creative uses for Jello, Cottage Cheese and
Spam. With the '60s came great combinations of canned items
designed for quick preparation of hearty meals. Some are
outrageous, while others look like they may actually be good.
If you're feel the urge to give any of these a go, drop us a line
and let us know how it worked out for you. We'd be happy
to print your (witty and possibly edited) comments along side
the recipe. Have a recipe you'd like to share? Let us know.
Bon appetite! XOXO
